Welcome to Double M Brewery – where passion meets craftsmanship in every sip! I'm Mark McCarty, proud owner and head brewer, and I invite you to embark on a flavorful journey through our handcrafted brews.

My story is one of adventure, dedication, and the pursuit of a dream. After serving in the Army and National Guard, my professional journey took me to the rugged landscapes of Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, where I worked for a major oil company. However, my heart was always drawn to the art of brewing, a passion I cultivated for 25 years as a devoted homebrewer.

In 2020, I decided it was time to turn my lifelong hobby into a full-time venture. Retiring from the Alaskan frontier, I found a piece of paradise in Council, Idaho – 40 acres of land where I've not only built a beautiful home but also established Double M Brewery. Nestled in the heart of Idaho, our brewery is more than just a place to enjoy great beer; it's a celebration of nature, craftsmanship, and community.

At Double M Brewery, we believe in creating exceptional brews that reflect our unique surroundings. I've taken the farm-to-glass approach seriously, growing our own hops and some grains right here on our property. The honey we use in some of our special brews is sourced from our neighbor's bee farm, fostering a sense of collaboration and sustainability. Our water, a crucial ingredient in the brewing process, comes from a 420-foot well in the Columbia Basin. Pristine and pure, it adds a distinctive quality to our beers, making each sip a genuine taste of the local landscape.
